Backup and iCloud

So nothing gets lost – even if your iPhone does.

Guide · As of October 2026

iCloud

Projects, photos and your edits sync through your iCloud – end-to-end encrypted, as a guest too. You can turn it off only in iOS Settings (your name › iCloud).

Face data stays on this iPhone. Another device recognises the faces again; only subjects with Keep this Motiv come along.

You see the status under Settings › Connected Accounts next to iCloud, together with Sync now.

Automatic backup

On top of iCloud, free with an account:

  1. Settings › Your Profile › Backup.
  2. Connect OneDrive, Connect Google Drive or Choose a folder in Files – other cloud providers, a NAS, a USB stick.
  3. Blurami backs up once straight away, then every changed project when you leave the app – or right now with Back up now.

One folder per project with its data and photos, plus the subjects you keep. No other face data goes along. Nothing is ever deleted there.

A folder “On My iPhone” is not a backup – it disappears with the app.

One-time backup

Into a folder copies everything once into a new folder – onto a USB stick, say. The automatic backup stays as it is.

Bringing things back

Under Backup, Bring back shows what is in your backups but not in the app. Tap to bring it back – nothing is overwritten.
