Blurami is built around a simple principle: your photos belong to you.
Working draft – Alpha / in development
Blurami is currently in active development and is not yet publicly available on the Apple App Store. Some features may be available only to developers or testers. Features, technical processes and scope may change before public release.
This version describes the current state of development. Features that are planned but not yet implemented are not described as existing features.
This English version is a translation of the German original (Datenschutzerklärung). In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails to the extent permitted by applicable law.
No advertising. No ad tracking. No sale of your data. Blurami processes your photos on your device and does not upload them to its own servers.
1. Controller
The provider of Blurami, see Imprint. Contact, including for data protection matters: support@blurami.com.
2. Your photos and content – processed on your device
Blurami only receives the photos you select in Apple's photo picker and works with copies; originals remain unchanged. Detection, recognition and editing run on the device. Facial features and recognition data (biometric data) are processed exclusively on your device and are not transferred to our servers. We operate no storage for content and no database of recognised people. You decide who is protected and how.
If you use iCloud Photos, your original photos may already be in your iCloud Photos library, independently of Blurami. Blurami does not change this. Blurami app data may also be part of your regular iPhone backup. A separate Blurami backup in iCloud Drive or with another cloud provider is planned but not yet available.
Exported images contain metadata such as the location where they were taken unless you have it removed. If you tap "Get Address", the photo's coordinates are sent to Apple.
3. Google ML Kit
For face detection, Blurami uses Google ML Kit on the device. Photos, faces and results are not sent to Google, only technical diagnostic and usage data (Google, USA; EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
4. Your NubisMedia account
As a guest you do not need an account. "Sign in with Apple" creates a NubisMedia account (for users aged 16 and over), one account for the NubisMedia apps. Our servers store only:
- Apple identifier, email address or Apple relay address, display name – contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- sign-in sessions – contract
- plan and purchase records from Apple, no payment details – contract; legal obligation to retain records (point (c))
- your acceptance of each version of the Terms of Use – evidence (point (f))
The servers run at a cloud provider in the EU acting as a processor; we name the provider on request.
Deletion: In the app you can leave Blurami or delete your account for all apps. Purchase records and acceptance records are kept without name or address for as long as legal obligations or evidentiary purposes require. Data on your device and an Apple subscription are not affected.
5. Apple and other services
Apple's privacy policy applies to sign-in, the App Store, iCloud and address lookup. You can voluntarily connect a Google or Microsoft account; it is intended for the planned backup. When you connect one, Blurami receives the account identifier, name and email address. This information stays on your device, and Blurami does not access your files. The provider's terms apply (for Google: Limited Use). Support emails are processed by our email provider (point (b) or (f)).
6. Website
No advertising, no tracking, no analytics cookies, no content from third-party servers.
7. Retention periods

Longer only where the law, the establishment or defence of legal claims, or security requires it in an individual case.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Blurami does not make automated decisions (Art. 22 GDPR). Requests to support@blurami.com.
9. Changes
We update this policy when Blurami changes – in particular before online AI features are added. Technical details are available on request.
